As the festive season approaches, SOS Group is proud to continue supporting the local community by working alongside Contact Morpeth Mental Health Group, a charity dedicated to improving mental health and wellbeing across Northumberland.
Recently, the SOS team upgraded the organisation’s printing equipment to help improve efficiency and reliability within their office, ensuring staff can continue focusing their energy where it matters most: supporting people in need.
In addition to the equipment upgrade, SOS Group has made a donation towards the charity’s annual Christmas meal, which will take place on 19th December. This event offers an important opportunity for the charity’s service users to connect, share, and celebrate in a warm, inclusive environment — something that can make a world of difference during what can be a difficult time of year.
Supporting Local Wellbeing
Founded in 1986, Contact Morpeth Mental Health Group provides a welcoming and safe space for individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The charity offers a range of activities, workshops, and one-to-one support sessions designed to help people build confidence, improve emotional resilience, and connect with others who understand their journey.
Their mission is simple but powerful, to reduce isolation and promote positive mental health within the local community. Services include social groups, counselling sessions, art and craft activities, and regular community events, all designed to bring people together and foster a sense of belonging.
A Meaningful Partnership
The relationship between SOS Group and Contact Morpeth Mental Health Group goes beyond business. For SOS, community engagement and support are at the heart of what they do. By upgrading the charity’s printing equipment and supporting its Christmas celebration, SOS Group aims to make the day-to-day running of the organisation smoother while helping spread a little festive cheer.
Andrew Skelton, one of the Directors of SOS Group said:
“We’re proud to support Contact Morpeth Mental Health Group, especially at this time of year when their work is more important than ever. As Christmas can be a difficult period for many, it’s a privilege to help in a small way and contribute to the vital services they provide.”
Paul Harrison, Funding and Project Manager for Contact Morpeth Mental Health Group wrote SOS Group a touching letter, we’ve shared this below.
