Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking
SOS Group’s Commitment to Preventing Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking
At SOS Group, we are committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our business activities and supply chains. We firmly believe in ethical business practices and take steps to ensure that modern slavery has no place in our operations.
Organisational Structure and Supply Chains
SOS Group operates across the UK and EU member countries, providing organisations with printers, copiers, multifunctional devices, and document management solutions. Our supply chain includes leading manufacturers such as Epson, Konica/Develop, Lexmark, Kyocera, and Riso, alongside software partners like Square 9, PowerRetrieve, Papercut, and Print Audit.
We assess the risk of modern slavery by thoroughly vetting our suppliers, prioritising those with established governance and employment policies. Additionally, our own UK-based employment policies are drafted to comply with national legislation, ensuring that every employee is treated fairly and paid at least the national living wage.
Policies and Governance
To reinforce our commitment, SOS Group has developed robust policies:
- Whistleblowing Policy: Encourages employees, customers, and business partners to report concerns about slavery or human trafficking within our operations or supply chains.
- Employee Code of Conduct: Outlines expected behaviours for employees representing SOS Group.
- Corporate Social Responsibility Policy: Summarises how we manage environmental impacts and collaborate responsibly with suppliers and local communities.
Our Director, John Behan, is responsible for reviewing and implementing these policies to ensure they align with best practices.
Due Diligence Processes
SOS Group undertakes due diligence when onboarding new suppliers and regularly reviews existing ones. This includes:
- Building long-term relationships with reputable suppliers.
- Evaluating modern slavery and human trafficking risks for new partnerships.
- Clearly communicating our expectations to business partners.
These efforts help us mitigate any risks related to slavery and human trafficking in our supply chain.
Training and Awareness
To ensure a strong understanding of modern slavery risks, our Directors complete online training courses. This helps embed ethical practices at every level of the organisation.
Monitoring and Performance Indicators
SOS Group monitors its recruitment and payroll systems to ensure compliance with UK legislation. Additionally, we measure the effectiveness of our anti-slavery efforts through staff training completion rates and regular reviews of supplier practices.
Commitment to Improvement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is reviewed regularly to ensure its effectiveness. The Board of Directors fully endorses this statement and is committed to its continued implementation.
